stress testing with a focus on your heart
An electrocardiogram (ECG) stress test is similar to a CPET, but requires less equipment and has a greater focus on the hearts response to exercise. An ECG stress test is an assessment utilised primarily to identify unusual responses to exercise during an increasing physical demand on the body. This is done through monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, how hard you perceive the test to be, symptoms in response to exercise and the electrical activity of the heart through ECG monitoring. This assessment is primarily for investigating cardiovascular disease and screening for future cardiovascular disease.
