Eccentric exercise is widely renowned for its benefits during rehabilitation and management. Eccentric is beneficial as it requires less energy to perform than conventional exercise methods with comparable outcomes. As eccentrics require less energy there is less demand on the heart and thus a lower heart rate and breathing rate during the exercise.

Our eccentric bike allows patients to achieve maximal strength and lower limb functional improvement, without the demand that regular physical activity imposes on the body. Examples of functional improvement include climbing stairs, increased walking tolerance and a greater independence.
